Lulav, Etrog, and Schach

The Lulav (palm branch with myrtle and willow) and Etrog (citron) are lovely symbols of the festival of Sukkot.  We encourage you to  use them at home during the days of Sukkot, and bring them to the synagogue to participate in the Lulav processions October 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 23rd. Please consider adding this mitzvah to your lives.

Schach is the covering put on top of a Sukkah. According to Jewish tradition, the roof of a Sukkah should consist of branches of trees, detached from the trunk, sparsely spread over so that the stars may be seen through them. The average home Sukkah needs two to four bundles.

The Lulav, Etrog & Schach will be available for pickup at the temple on:

Thursday, October 13                   8:30 am – 5:00pm
Friday, October 14                         8:30 am – 2:00 pm
